President in big trouble if Johan comes 2nd

johan daya mahinda 410px 20Political analysts of the Mawbima newspaper point out that the result of the oncoming Provincial Council elections will be a certificate given by the public regarding the political future of the President, UNP leadership and the JVP.

According to them, the preferences of the UPFA North Western Provincial Council candidate Johan Fernando too, can be considered as a yardstick in measuring the current popularity of the President.
Analysts say that if Johan Fernando, despite all the special treatment given by the Rajapaksa Family, falls into the runner-up position in the Preference race, it would be a bad effect on the political health of both the President and MP Namal Rajapaksa.
A senior Minister of the Govt told Sri Lanka Mirror that the President's act in breaking Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara out from the UNP by giving him heaps of hopes and later favoring Minister Johnston Fernando's son Johan Fernando in the PC polls campaign, has drawn the dismay of many senior SLFP local organizers.
However, Minister Johnston's work in bringing the UPFA forward in the Kurunegala district in his son's election campaign has been utterly praised by the President during the past few days.
Meanwhile, President has also pledged Johan that if he would be able to secure the majority of preferences even by one vote, he would get the CM post in North Western Provincial Council.
Under these circumstances, if Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara scores at least one more vote than Johan, then it would be a turning point in the future politics in Sri Lanka, analysts further say.
All these "by-elections" brings much importance to the President in the wake of a possible Presidential Election in next year.
